RADICAL MUSLIMS STOPED CHRISTIANS TO BUILD THE CHURCH BUILDING AT RUFIJI DISTRICT IN TANZANIA

The weekly Tanzania Christian newspaper "MSEMAKWELI" (The Truth) no. 777, dated July 29-August 4,2012, page 5,  once again has reported another  campaign by radical Muslims to ban the Christians of Utete in Rufiji District, Coastal region in Tanzania, the right to erect the church building at their site, despite the legal documents they have from the authority of land. Most of the inhabitants of Utete in Rufiji are Muslims.

Pastor Agnes Maliwanga of the Evangelistic Assemblies of God Tanzania,(EAGT) has appealed the government to intervene the situation.
Muslims told the church member to stop immediately the building of the church or else they will set in fire or demolish it.

When the matter of threat was brought before the District Police Commander, Mr. S. Ayoub, he told the Pastor to shift the church to another place,  because he could not establish a police post near the church.
In recent days, Tanzania has witnessed the torching of church buildings, done by groups which are believed to be radical Muslims, and they have vowed to continue with their campaign to eradicate what they call: "to wipe the Christendom dominance " in Tanzania, and several churches were torched. The situation is tense.
