THE CHURCH SET ON FIRE IN KAGERA TANZANIA



Unidentified people torched the church facilities to ashes at Nyaibanja Parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, North Western Diocese, at Bukoba Rural District in  Kagera region, on dawn of Sunday  of 27th September, 2015. Assistant Bishop of the Diocese, Reverend Lwankomezi Lemmy said, items burnt in the church were: the altar cloths, kneeling pillows, the Lord's Supper equipments, cupbord for storing offering envelops, benches and  all drums. These items are believed to be set on fire of petrol fuel. 

The cost of damage has not yet been released. No one was in the Church. The case has been, previously,  reported at Nyaibanja Police Post with registration no. IR/3599/2015 and then later the same day was reported at the Kagera Regional Central Police with registered no. BU / RB / 7043/2015,  dated 09.27.2015. Police has arrested some  culprits.
