Rev. Daniel Mwankemwa stresses a point at the session of the Ethics Committee of the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) where he had lodged complaints against Taifa Tanzania newspaper. Rev Mwankemwa claimed that the newspaper had wrongly projected him as a political fanatic for allegedly reporting that a book he had authored was used in campaigns during the last year’s elections for a Member of Parliament for the Mbeya Rural Constituency.
The case consumed considerable long time before it was settled by the Ethics Committee.
It was amicably resolved that Taifa Tanzania should give Rev. Mwankemwa the right of reply by publishing his article in which he would explain his concerns on what the newspaper had reported so as to clear his image.
Taifa Tanzania News Editor, Salum Mnette, agreed to publish the article.
