ANOTHER CHURCH IS TORCHED IN TANZANIA

The wave of torching churches in Tanzania is still on move despite the efforts by the government to intervene the situation.

On 19th June, 2013, at 7:45 p. m, unidentified persons torched the building of The Christian Family Church at Mkamba village, Kilombero District, Morogoro region.

It was later reported at Kidatu Police Post and registered in the investigation file no.KDT/RB/424 of 19th June,2013. No any accused has been arrested so far.

The church leader, Prophet Mapendo Mpeni, said the fire was set immediately after the evening service. The church holds evening service every Wednesday.

Prophet Mpeni said he doen’t know the reason behind this harsh and cruel action against Christianity in Tanzania.

“But when we started building in 2011, one of the government leader (names withheld) together with a neighbor, protested the church building in that village.” Said Prophet Mpeni.

A good number of Church buildings have been torched by radical Muslims, in their campaign called  “Eradicate Christendom System in Tanzania.”

It is not clear if the church was torched by radical Muslims, or some body else.

Constitutionally, Tanzania is a secular state.
